The bags are big enough to carry your groceries in as well as gather every single length of tule in your dress.
Wedding dresses, although beautiful, can be a massive burden. It's a given that one would like to look stunning on the day they say 'I do', but wedding gowns have always been an inconvenience to manoeuvre in. Especially when nature calls! Going to the bathroom in a wedding dress can be a real task and brides normally have to drag in one of their bridesmaids into the bathrooms to help with the lifting and the strategic positioning.
But there's one handy little trick that is making brides sigh in deep relief, literally. Your ordinary, heavy-duty grocery bag can help you keep calm and relieve yourself without the hassle of involving anyone else! Those distinct, blue Ikea bags are a great example of the kind of bags we're talking about. The bags are big enough to carry your groceries in as well as gather every single length of tule in your dress.
One woman shared this handy trick on a Facebook page. She posted pictures of how she used an Ikea Frakta bag on her wedding day by cutting a couple of holes in the bottom of the bag and then using the large tote to gather up her gown. The Ikea shopping bag's handles served a shoulder strap, which was a great way to hoist up the bag. "Well, I got married a few weeks ago (in a mermaid wedding dress) and I was really worried about going to the bathroom and not being able to … handle myself," reads the caption.
She continued: "Someone helping or watching me going to the bathroom on my wedding day? Not being able to have free hands to use the toilet paper? Or even worse if my period decides to show? NO WAY!" The unnamed bride did realize that she could have bought herself a bridal bathroom helper but decided to brush aside the unnecessary expense so she decided to go for a cheaper, more affordable style.
"Some stuff like this bridal bathroom helper exists but are expensive just because it is wedding related. My bridal bathroom helper hack costs about 0.80 euro and I did it the day before my wedding. It took only 3 minutes. What I like best is it’s almost free and allows me to make my life easier on my wedding day. So here is the hack," shared the clever bride. It's a useful hack to keep in mind, especially in the case of something you're probably going to use once in your life.
